All those attending classes are asked to become LADVAA members for insurance purposes – currently £1 per day for each weekend or Summer School, or £18 per year entitling unlimited attendance (class fees are paid separately to tutors). We have nearly 200 members at present. New members are always welcome.
Benefits of membership:
- free entry to lectures,
- discounts available on art materials at local shops
- a chance to exhibit work annually
- regular informative mailshots on classes and events

Tutors hire the Studio privately. It relies on income from this and members’ subscriptions. It receives no subsidy either from Lewes District Council or from any funding body, although applications for grants are made where appropriate. Maintenance and administration are arranged by the volunteer Committee, who work hard to continue the ethos of the founder Cecil Heathfield’s ideals. (see more in The Story of Paddock Studios
